ABC: The FCC’s accelerated review of Disney’s ABC licenses is drawing some criticism from the broadcast industry. Under Chairman Brendan Carr, the agency is requiring ABC to reapply for all of its station licenses as part of an investigation into whether The Walt Disney Company and its American Broadcasting Co. units violated the Communications Act of 1934 and FCC rules, including the ban on unlawful discrimination. The FCC’s Media Bureau ordered the early‑renewal filings on Tuesday.
